Mad Dino Asylum

I thought I’d start a few posts about my nails. I’m currently obsessed with painting my nails. I repaint them once a week. Normally on Fridays when I don’t have a recap to write. I thought I could write down a few of my observations.

Nail Art: Gir and Cupcakes

Polish Used:

• Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear #110 “Green with Envy”
• Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen #02 “Black”
• Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen #09 “Neon Pink”
• Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen #12 “Pearly White”

I would never the green plain because it’s hideous, but it was perfect for Gir.

It was my first time working with nail art pens and they are messy. Work somewhere you aren’t afraid to get dirty. I got black on my pants and I’m not looking forward to getting it off.

The black was definitely the best pen and worked the best. The pink was decent and showed up well for the cupcakes. The white was really weak. It wasn’t thick enough to stand out on it’s own, so I ended up drawing a white circle around the eyes. I did the same thing with the tongue. Next time I’ll probably just draw the design in black first and fill in the color afterwards. I’m still thinking about going back to outline the cupcakes.

I had originally planned on doing the ears, but decided against it. I wish my big right toenail would grow back already, but I think the design was cuter without the tongue. I’d like to try this on my finger nails and get more practice, but they are too long right now to look good.
